: How Do I ... ? How do I stop logging onto the default palace?

Instructions for Changing the Default Palace

When you start up your Palace Client for the first time, it automatically tries to log you onto a default palace. The problem with this is that the palace set up for the default no longer exists, so you will receive a message saying "Connection Refused", meaning you can't connect. The following steps (shown here for the Windows Client) will correct this problem.

  • Select "Preferences" under the "Edit" Menu

  • When the Preferences window opens, select "No Connection".

  • Then click on the "Ok" button.

  • Close the client. When you reopen it, it will no longer try to log you onto a default palace, and you will be able to either select one from the "bookmarks", or go to "File" and choose "Connect to a Palace" where you can type in the palace you wish to visit.
