Convert MPEG Layer-3 Audio Files for Palace
Win, 'Nix. This program adds RIFF/WAV headers to standard MPEG Layer-3 audio files enabling them to be played by the Windows version of The Palace client. Versions for DOS and several flavors of Unix are available. Shareware.

Cool Edit 2000
Win. The Audio File Swiss Army Knife. This program does it all from recording, to file format and sample rate conversion, to effects and more. Costs money for full features including unlimited length MP3 file creation.

Musicmatch Jukebox
Win. A popular choice to organize and play MP3's. Also able to "rip" tracks from CD's in MP3 or WAV format. Free version available, payment needed for some features.
